Below is a brief summary of the ATMA's attendance at the ATTA conference, 16-18 January at the Sydney Law School, Sydney, Australia.

Personally I am very pleased with the success of our involvement and our young ladies must be thanked for their input into the conference, including Jessica manning the phones back at the office.
Over the three days we were able to hand out a lot of membership packs and make many aware of the existence of the ATMA. Some of the attendees, including TPB member Dale Pinto, are already ATMA members whilst others were very keen to know of our organisation.

We have been invited to attend some of the Universities and Curtin University who the ATMA have given prizes to for many years have invited us to attend their next prize giving ceremony in person in March and also be given the opportunity to present to a few tax classes. If we could link this with a WA PD group I think it would be a wonderful experience. At the same time I may have been able to fill our vacancy on the WA RTPWG.

From this conference our links have grown stronger and Sydney Uni staff have also indicated they would welcome working closer with us & even assisting with PD & Workshop groups.

Finally I think we should as a whole team thank Dale NOWENS and all her team for the assistance & hospitality they afforded us over the three days.

All the conference papers presented are available at :

Some are quite interesting.
