BAS agents update

This presentation aims to provide participants with an understanding of a wide range of BAS Agent specific matters, and the focus is to provide members performing BAS Agents services a broad update and information on a number of current issues.

With this presentation the ATO aims to inform BAS agents so they may best help their clients comply with their tax obligations.

This session will cover matters including:

• administrative matters - ATO services for BAS agents
• compliance issues - GST compliance focus
• technical update - flood levy, paid parental leave and the gross domestic product (GDP) uplift factor for PAYG instalments
• ATO support for small business clients of BAS agents
• where to get help from the ATO.

This session will also include information from the Tax Practitioners Board on BAS agent education and registration renewal requirements.
